Just 3 weeks ago the wheels were coming off the Wagon. The fightns were swept out of Atlanta and their lead was down to percentage points over the Marlins. Fast forward to the end of this weekend and it appears the Phils have laced up the Ole Sh*tkickers.
Led by another strong performance by imaginary trade bait JA Happ and Jimmy Rollins circa 2007 the Phils jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The Phils have now won 8 straight their longest such streak in three years and improved to a major league best 29-15 on the road.
Looking ahead the Phils start a seven game homestand on Monday against the Cubs (3), Padres (1) and Cardinals (3). If all goes well the Phils could be playing the roll of "the gimp" while the rest of the NL East portrays "Marsellus Wallace" (picture to explicit to post but you get the idea...)
