Lee Wins Home Debut as Phils Win Rubber Match Against Rockies 3-1

Welcome to Philly Cliff Lee. On a cloudy Thursday afternoon down in South Philadelphia the Phillies beat the Rockies 3-1 to take the series advantage and head into weekend series against the Fish. Newly aquired ace Cliff Lee made his CBP debut lasting 7 strong innings and striking out 9 and only allowing 1 run. Jimmy Rollins continued his hot streak and fell a home run short of hitting for the cycle with 2 runs and 3 hits. Catcher Paul Bako hit a solo home run as well to put the Phillies up 3-1 in the 5th and that was all the "General Lee" needed to put away the Rockies. With his pitch count getting high and due up to bat in the 8th, Ryan Madson stepped in to close down the 8th inning and closer Brad Lidge entered in the 9th(everyone was a little nervous) but he got the job done and got his 21st save of the season with 2 strikeouts that inning. The Phillies now have a 7 game lead over the Marlins and Braves and the Fish come into town for a weekend series, where the Fightins can really put some distance between them and the rest of the NL East. Friday night at CBP is Country Joe Blanton (7-5) vs Ricky Nolasco(7-7).
Welcome to Philly Cliff Lee.
